What is well – being
Wellbeing is defined as state of healthy, happy, prosperity, welfare and comfortability of an individual.
It is a positive outcome because of its meaningfulness to human, and a lot of sectors of society.
This makes people perceive that their lives going well. Life conditions (eg: Economic, Physical, Healthy) are fundamental to well- being.
Also, it is important to track these conditions for public policy.
However, many living indicators that measures the living conditions how to measure living conditions fail to measure what people
feel about their lives (Kahneman and Deaton).
Some of these indicators are; quality of their living, their positive psychological emotions, the realization of their potentials,
or satisfaction with their life and their “well –being”.
Generally, well-being constitutes wide spread judgment of life satisfaction and feeling starting from depression to joy (Kahneman and Deaton).
Furthermore, wellbeing includes the experience of positive emotion and psychological (e.g. depression and anxiety) satisfaction with life,
optimistic attitude and aggressiveness.
In addition, Wellbeing can be described as feeling good.
For public health functionalities, physical wellbeing (e.g., feeling very healthy and full of energy) is also seen as an importance to
overall well-being.
